I will let you know that I am a sunset freak. I love taking pics of the sunset and just capturing the beauty. Yet somehow its never quite the same. So you end up trying to take multiple pics to convey the beauty and they are quite lovely it never gives you that same warm feeling.
I will also like to add that I am a baking fool. I don't bake all the time because the spare hours at the end of my days is usually devoted to spending time with my son and he doesn't particularily like sharing mommy with the kitchen. I can't wait until he is old enough to really help.
At the moment I have a particular fondness for pie, fruit pie. I have always loved them more than cake. Weird I know. So this last weekend I made an apple pie for my adopted grandma who will soon be visiting heaven. No matter how morbid it sound I thought that if I were getting ready to die that I would enjoy someone to make me something that I had been craving..jeez this is beginning to sound like death roll. Well anyway, I made her an apple pie from scratch...crust and all. And let me tell you, it may be awhile until I make crust again or even a pie without someone else to watch my son. In between potty breaks, "take you" and the illusive phone calls that always seem to happen to me at the least convenient times, it took me 4 hours (including baking time) to finish that pie. Nana, I put my LOVE into this pie..and you know it tasted like it too. The crust was amazing. I typically use pre-made crust and its great but there didn't seem to be any comparison to homemade. I told my fiance ( i hate that word) about the pie and he said, did you make a 2nd one. So I was in the kitchen again last night but you know I went out and bought some crust but listened to nana's advice and mixed sweet apples with the grannys. She was right it was amazing. The proof was in the ohs and ahs coming from the kitchen and unfortunately I was unable to get to the pie before he did. I had cut out an apple in the middle and it turned out really cute. It was really good but I was ready for the next fruit. maybe peach?
And to my surprise this morning the most horendous bug that I have ever seen in plain sight startled me in the bathroom this morning. I have no idea what it is so I will have to do some research but it was about the size of a thumb and was crawling down from the ceiling. It looked like a moth and a beetle in one. maybe someone has an idea. Maybe it came from the weeping willow foresty area next to our apartment. I was so grossed out and the nastiest part was the smell it let out after I killed it. bleh

Hi Heather! I received your comment on my blog, thanks so much! More recent photos have been shot with a Canon 450d. I also use a Canon Powershot, Olympus 8080 and my Blackberry. :) For close-up shots, you want to make sure to use the Macro function on your camera and if possible, try to use a timer (if you've got shaky hands) or rest the camera on something so as to avoid moving the camera as it's focusing. A lot of consumer digital cameras come with decent macro features now. I favor Olympus & Canon cameras.. if you need more information feel free to let me know!
